2016 looks good for Tokaj wine

Climate change may actually have a rather positive impact on the quality of Slovak wines, suggested the vice president of the Slovak winemakers association Igor Mancel in June. He said this even after severe April frosts took their toll on many of the nation's vineyards. Though somehow, the surroundings of Košice and Prešov in the east of the country survived the frosts unscathed. In fact, with grape harvests underway in the very south-eastern end of Slovakia, growers in the Tokaj region are reporting bumper crops with quality wines soon to follow. Gavin Shoebridge has more.
