September starts the new season for theatres in Slovakia. The 2019/2020 season is special as it marks 100 years since the establishment of the first professional drama house in our country. That is why the Culture Ministry succeeded in its proposal to name 2020 the year of the Slovak theatre. Nonetheless, the 100 year-old drama ensemble of the Slovak National Theatre (SND) entered into the jubilee season with controversy.
