“Soviet Union did nothing to stop it”

30 years since the fall of the communist regime in Central and East European countries was commemorated also abroad. The "Raising the Velvet Curtain" event featuring Slovak literature, film and theatre production was presented in London. A conference on Slovak literature after 1989, an event presenting developments in the literary scene, was held at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES) of University College London (UCL) on 5^th November 2019. RSI also had the opportunity to discuss the anniversary with the director of SSEES.
