Since the launch of the Culture Ministry's electronic questionnaire aiming to determine the real number of actors in the cultural and creative industries, and subsequently target financial assistance to this segment, only 1,708 entities have filled in the application, Culture Minister Natalia Milanova told a press briefing on Tuesday, adding that another 5,399 questionnaires were still incomplete.
"We're being confronted with information suggesting a number of approximately 220,000 people working in the cultural and creative industries, but so far we only have these figures," she said in connection with the registration, which is being carried out between 9-19 October.
Milanova therefore called on all those working in the field of culture and creative industries to register by the deadline. "It is a basis for further talks with the Finance Ministry so that we can provide targeted assistance, assistance that we want to provide," stressed the minister. "However, if we don't have a real basis for negotiations, it'll be very difficult for us to communicate," she added.
