Astor Piazzolla at Konvergencie 2021

Astor Piazzolla at Konvergencie 2021

Konvergencie or Convergence, when translated into English, is a term known to musicians. In the online Cambridge dictionary it is defined as two or more ideas, things, etc. becoming similar or coming together. In Slovakia, music lovers know that Konvergencie is the title of the second album by rock band Collegium Musicum. Released in 1971, it was the first ever double album recorded in our country. This historical milestone of Slovak rock music gave its name to the festival of contemporary music founded 21 years ago by cellist Jozef Luptak, who still runs it today. Yes, even today. The 2021 edition of the festival will be held online as well as live until June 12. Jozef Luptak was interviewed in our studios by a colleague from the Slovak section of RSI, Elena Seeber.
