"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." This saying is especially true for Slovak jazz singer Hanka Gregušová, who has been living in New York City for five years now. During the city lockdown, when all her concerts were cancelled, she decided to spend her time being creative and produce an album, which would fuse traditional Slovak folk music with African-american musical traditions. Zuzana Botiková spoke to Hanka Gregušová about her creative work amidst the pandemic, as well as about what it is that makes Slovak music an "export article".
