Slovak Design Award 2021: Ecology and sustainable materials becoming norm

At the beginning of this year, the Ministry of Culture decided to declare 2021 the Year of Slovak Design. The aim was to present Slovak design as a valuable and attractive part of Slovak culture and identity. Therefore, over the course of the year the Slovak Design Centre, where the idea originated, has organised several exhibitions, workshops and online events. The main event of the year, however, was the Slovak Design Award (Národná cena za dizajn). The award ceremony, during which the best Slovak designers for 2021 were chosen by an international jury, took place on Friday, 8 October.
