Hans Broos was a Carpathian German born in Slovakia who moved to Brazil and became a top Brazilian architect.
His story has recently been rediscovered by Slovak film director Ladislav Kaboš, who captured Broos’s life and work in a documentary called Rough Poetry Architect (Architekt drsnej poetiky). Who was Hans Broos? Why did he move to Brazil? And why is he referred to as a rough poetry architect?
