“Kids should see that life is good”

For the past month, the trend of Ukrainians leaving Slovakia is on the rise. The refugees are returning to their home in areas where the situation has improved after the 100 days of the war. Despite this fact, there are many volunteers helping those who are still in need and are staying in our country. The help also comes from state authorities. The Culture Ministry informed on Wednesday that Slovak theatres will give the floor to the Ukrainian national ballet which has been invited to an international tour in EU member states. The same day, 8th June, the performance was held in the Slovak National Theatre. It will be staged on 12th June in Kosice, eastern Slovakia, on 24th June in Piestany, western Slovakia, and on 29th June in Banska Bystrica, central Slovakia.

Many Slovak artists help by different means. One of the activities that was held in the Slovak capital in the spring this year was an embroidery workshop for Ukrainian women led by significant contemporary artist Daniela Krajcova, the 2020 laureate of the prestigious Oskar Cepan award.
