Slovak National Theatre again without director general

“I feel sorry for my statements because they don't correspond to the way I would speak in Slovak under normal circumstances," claimed outgoing Slovak National Theatre director general Matej Drlicka on Friday, 21st October, after he himself submitted his resignation to Culture Minister Natalia Milanova. Earlier in the day, he took flak from lawmakers on the House Committee for Culture over his remark. Artists and employees at the Slovak National Theatre addressed Culture Minister demanding that she revoke the resignation. On the other hand, the opera solo singers who had been made redundant due to stabilising processes in the institution expressed their support of the decision of Natalia Milanova.
