On Sunday, 19th March, the Slovak National Theatre presents Mozart’s masterpiece opera “The Magic Flute” in Bratislava. Starring are the famous Slovak soprano Slávka Zámečníková as Pamina and tenor Juraj Hollý as Tamino. Bratislava performance focusing on the fairy-tale character of the story is suitable for a family visit. The Magic flute can also be seen in the State opera in Kosice eastern Slovakia in a staging under the baton of Brazilian born, Vienna based conductor Vinicius Kattah, which is less of a fairy tale but more highly praised by critics. Kosice will present their version on 1st April.
