Qurantine- and test-free 2-day travel agreed with Czech Republic

On Monday, Prime Minister Igor Matovic (OLaNO) announced on Facebook that as of Wednesday people with permanent or temporary residence in Slovakia will be allowed to enter the Czech Republic for 48 hours without the obligation to present a negative coronavirus test and subsequently undergo quarantine.

Moreover, short trips of up to 24 hours will be extended to 48 hours as of Wednesday to seven other foreign countries with no mandatory quarantine upon return required. The seven countries concerned are Austria, Hungary, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany and Switzerland. The Prime Minister conceded that the great task facing the Slovak Government is to negotiate bilateral free movement with the countries in question, so that they won't demand negative coronavirus tests from Slovaks at border crossings and vice versa.
