List of safe countries to be revised once every two weeks

The list of epidemiologically safer countries according to the government's expert team is expanding, although epidemiologists, virologists, and infectious disease specialists decided to exclude Bulgaria and Montenegro from it due to current developments. The countries that will be added - the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea and China, were announced by Slovak Prime Minister Igor Matovič (OLaNO) after a meeting with a consilium of epidemiologists and infectologists on Thursday. The measure will enter into force as of July 6, with the list of safe countries to be revised once every two weeks.

More than 130 new coronavirus infections were diagnosed in Slovakia in June, with 63 of them being imported cases, including some from low-risk countries, such as the Czech Republic (17), Germany (3) and Romania (1). Infectologist Pavol Jarcuska said that it is also necessary to think twice before going to Croatia, which now has two local epicentres of the infection - Zagreb and Osijek.
