Due to the increasing number of positive cases, Germany is including Slovakia on its risky COVID-19 countries list. The German government decided on Thursday to extend the five risky Slovak regions to the whole country. For the first time, Polish regions bordering with Germany were added to the list, too.
The coronavirus situation was one of the topics of the bilateral meeting between Slovak Prime Minister Igor Matovic and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Brussels on Friday. As Matovic informed on his social network profile, they agreed that restrictions in mobility and socializing are the only way of managing the situation. "Exactly the path we are following in Slovakia," commented Matovic. He also assured the German Chancellor of Slovakia's support to Germany's EU Council Presidency in negotiating the EU budget with the European Parliament.
