The European Commission on Wednesday granted conditional marketing authorisation for a COVID-19 vaccine developed by a company called Moderna, the second vaccine against the disease authorised for the EU market. Moderna, which signed a deal with the European Commission on November 25, will supply a total of 160 million doses by the third quarter of 2021. The Slovak authority for the control and supervision of medications confirmed that the European Commission's decision is automatically valid in all EU states. Slovakia has signed contracts for a million doses of the Moderna vaccine.
