Finance Minister visits Moscow over Sputnik deal

Finance Minister Igor Matovič traveled on Thursday to Moscow in order to discuss the contract on the Sputnik V vaccine. He informed via social media that in Moscow he meets with the head of the Russian Fund for Direct Investments, responsible for the manufacturing of Sputnik V and with whom - as prime minister - Matovič negotiated the purchase of two million doses. According to the head of Slovak diplomacy, Ivan Korčok, the topic of vaccines falls within the competence of the Healthcare Ministry. On Friday, Matovič should visit Budapest to hold talks about the Russian vaccine.

The Slovak State Institute for Drugs Control did not adopt an expert stance on the ratio of benefits and risks surrounding the Sputnik V vaccine. Read more about it here.
