Inoculation with Sputnik V approved for people older than 60

The Health Ministry is set to give the green light to vaccination with Sputnik V for people over the age of 60, Health Ministry spokesperson Zuzana Eliasova reported on Tuesday.

"The Russian side has provided the necessary documentation to us, which means that people who are older than 60 and want to be inoculated with the jab will now be able to enrol themselves at www.korona.gov.sk in the next few days," claimed the spokesperson.

According to data released by the Health Analysis Institute on Wednesday, a total of 3,344 people are currently waiting for their first dose of the Sputnik V vaccine, with the highest number of them - 516 - aged between 40-44. When it comes to the 60+ age category, there are currently 23 people in the electronic waiting room, which makes it the smallest age group waiting for the Sputnik V vaccine at this moment.
