Children Aged 5-12 can be vaccinated

Vaccinating children aged 5-12 against COVID-19 will be possible in Slovakia based on a permit from Health Minister Vladimir Lengvarsky (OLaNO nominee), TASR was told by ministry spokesperson Zuzana Eliasova on Friday. "Vaccination can be carried out at the request of parents, with a highly individualised approach taking into account the risks and benefits of inoculating the child. Vaccination is recommended in high-risk cases, when catching COVID-19 might lead to critical health complications in a child or a difficult case of the disease," stated the spokesperson. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has not approved inoculation against COVID-19 with the Pfizer vaccine for children aged below 12, Miroslav Lednar of Pfizer confirmed for TASR.
