Slovakia has ten “black districts” as of Monday

Ten districts are considered black (a third-degree warning) in Slovakia, according to the COVID-19 automaton as of Monday. Meanwhile, 30 districts will be treated as dark red (a second-degree warning), 27 as red (a first-degree warning). Most hit by the new cases of Covid-19 are the districts in north and north-eastern Slovakia. Stricter measures will apply in all districts, concerning, for example, mass events, restaurants, fitness centres and wellness facilities and weddings and funerals. In black districts, weddings, celebrations, parties and events in public catering establishments are prohibited. Fitness centres, spas, waterparks and natural and healing spas will also remain closed. On Sunday, 993 people had a positive PCR test, of which more than 70% were not vaccinated. The positivity of PCR testing stands currently at little over 25%. There are 1144 patients with or suspected of having Covid-19 in hospitals, more than 80% of whom are not fully vaccinated. There are 112 patients at ICU units, 122 people need the support of artificial lung ventilation.
