The State Hospitals Association stated on Thursday that the omicron wave has not yet endangered the operation of state-run hospitals in Slovakia. As Bratislava University Hospital spokesperson Petra Lanikova informed, their bed capacity is currently used at less than one third. However, the health-care facilities are prepared for several alternatives if necessary. Deputy Health Minister Lenka Dunajova Druzkovska informed that the situation in hospitals is closely monitored. "We've taken steps to be able to respond to various situations," she explained. The aim of the meeting of hospital and Ministry representatives was to coordinate procedures of health-care facilities so that they are able to effectively face the coming wave of the omicron variant.
