Two years since first COVID-19 case in Slovakia

On Sunday, two years passed since the first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Slovakia. Despite the favourable trend, the situation is still not good according to Slovak Chief Hygienist Ján Mikas. He added that it is still necessary to observe the principles of personal protection. "The number of new cases exceeds 10,000 per day. The proportion of the positivity rate in the tests performed is still around 50%, which means that the number of cases is actually higher than the tests are able to capture," he said.
