More than 70 percent of Slovaks are afraid of the economic crisis caused by the new coronavirus, reports the latest survey carried out by the platy.sk portal on salaries. Most afraid of mass redundancies (82 percent) are those who earn their living in marketing, engineering, tourism, restaurants and pubs, transport and freight forwarding. Conversely, the least afraid are those who work in the insurance business, IT sector and education as well as health-care systems. Fewer than 60 percent of these employees are afraid of ending up unemployed. The survey also showed that the fear is being felt by both those with a university diploma as well as those with a lower level of education. The survey was carried out on a sample of 915 respondents.
