The number of people receiving social benefits in Slovakia fell by almost 4,400 year-on-year in April to fewer than 61,000, the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Centre (ÚPSVaR) reported on Monday. The number on a monthly basis increased by ten. When other household members are also included, almost 139,000 people (2.5% of the population) were dependent on social benefits in April. The highest figures were registered in the districts of Revúca, Rimavská Sobota (both Banská Bystrica region), Gelnica, Rožňava (both Košice region) and Kežmarok (Prešov region).
