The state budget deficit recorded a pronounced rise under the pall of the coronavirus crisis, when it swelled to €3.14 billion at the end of May and thus surpassed the projections approved for this year's budget, according to the Finance Ministry data released on Monday. The state budget income saw a year-on-year drop of €570.9 million at the end of May, whereas expenditure was ratcheted up by €1 billion.
