The kick-start of the economy after the release of measures in May resulted in an increase in turnover in industry and selected market services compared to April. However, the year-on-year decrease of turnover was maintained in May and it was recorded by all sectors of the economy, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic informed.From the beginning of the year up to the end of May, turnover decreased in industry by 21,3 %, year-on-year while the biggest drop of 54% was recorded in the manufacture of transport equipment. The employment rate in Slovakia decreased year-on-year in the majority of economy sectors. The highest drop of 25% was recorded in accommodation and 12% in restaurants and pubs. On the other hand, the employment rate increased in the IT sector. The drop can also be spotted in incomes with the most serious recorded in the sector of accommodation where it decreased by 33% percent y-o-y.
