The governing coalition presented on Wednesday a package of social
measures worth €500 million. It includes a €200 monthly allowance
for pregnant women as of the fourth month of their pregnancy a measure
to come into force in January next year, 13th pension payments as well
as cancelling co- payments for drugs for children under the age of 6,
pensioners and disabled people. Students, children and pensioners will be also able to use public transport free of charge. Working parents will receive extra €273 in tax bonuses per year. The package has to be approved by Parliament before coming into force.
