Slovak President to be Čaputová or Šefčovič

Liberal candidate Zuzana Caputova and European Commission Vice-president Maros Sefcovic have made it into Slovakia's presidential election run-off scheduled for March 30. The lawyer and environmental activist Čaputová received 40.57 percent and Euro Commissioner Šefčovič 18.66 percent of the votes in the first round on Saturday, according to the official election results released by the State Electoral Commission on Sunday. The list of bidders who didn't make it into the second round included: Stefan Harabin with 14.34 percent, Marian Kotleba receiving 10.39 percent and Frantisek Miklosko 5.72 percent. Candidates receiving less than 5 percent include Bela Bugar, Milan Krajniak and Eduard Chmelar. The rest of the list ended up with less than one percent including Martin Dano, Robert Svec, Juraj Zabojnik, Ivan Zuzula and Bohumila Tauchmannova. The turnout in the first round of the presidential election in Slovakia on Saturday reached 48.74 percent.
