If new judges of the Constitutional Court are elected during the tenure of current President Andrej Kiska, they should be appointed by him, president-elect Zuzana Čaputová said on Tuesday. She thinks he should do so as the posts of Constitutional Court judges were vacated during his term in office.
MPs are set to elect candidates for Constitutional Court judges for the third time next Tuesday. Nobody was elected in the first vote, while in the second one, eight candidates passed and three were appointed. The Constitutional Court currently has seven out of the total number of 13 judges.
