Slovaks will not able to vote at embassies abroad

Slovak citizens living abroad will not be able to vote at Slovak embassies or consulates in their country of residence. On Tuesday, MPs rejected a bill sponsored by the opposition party SaS, which would have enabled Slovaks living abroad to vote in general elections, European Parliament elections, presidential races, and popular referenda without having to travel to Slovakia to do so. According to legal norms, citizens should also be able to vote by post, by sending their ballots to any embassy of the Slovak Republic abroad. The embassy would then deliver the ballots to the Slovak Ministry of Interior, which would distribute them to the municipalities in question.
