Visegrad and Western Balkan countries meet in Prague

On Thursday, the Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš is hosting a meeting between the Visegrad Four Prime Ministers at Prague Castle. The Slovak, Hungarian and Polish PMs will be also joined by representatives of the Western Balkan countries, as the meeting aims to strengthen cooperation between the two regions. As several Czech media reported on Wednesday, Kosovo has withdrawn the participation of its Deputy Prime Minister in Thursday's meeting, in reaction to the statements by Czech President Miloš Zeman, who talked in Belgrade about withdrawing recognition for an independent Kosovo. For the time being, Slovakia is also not considering recognizing Kosovo's independence. The meeting in Prague focuses on several European topics, as the EU has developed a policy to promote the gradual integration of Western Balkan countries into the Union.
