As of Sunday, Slovak diplomat Peter Stano became the chief spokesperson for the EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, the portfolio given to EU High Representative Spanish Josep Borell. "Stano operated in Brussels, in 2011-14, when he became the first Slovak spokesperson among European Commission spokespersons after Slovakia joined the EU. He worked for the then Czech EU commissioner for enlargement and neighbourhood policy Štefan Füle," wrote the ministry. For 16 years, Stano worked in public media, including Slovakia's RTVS, the BBC World Service and Deutsche Welle. He also spent some time at the Slovak Representation Office in Beirut, Lebanon, where he served as ambassador for migration.
