Slovakia as a country directly neighbouring with Ukraine is strategically interested in an independent, stable, democratic and prosperous Ukraine, stated the Slovak minister, stressing the importance of the EU's continuous support for Ukraine. The panel called 'New Ambitions for Europe' was moderated by European Commission's Vice-president for Inter-institutional Relations and Strategic Outlook Maros Sefcovic. Issues like the European Commission's priorities in the light of growing trade and economic tensions, the European Green Deal and the geopolitical strength of Europe in a divided world dominated the discussion. The outcome from the panel will serve as a basis for further talks of the Global Council for the Future of Europe, co-chaired by minister Lajcak.
