The Slovak economy will grow by 2.2 percent this year, according to the latest macroeconomic forecast of the Institute of Financial Policy (IFP), which is the analytical unit of the Slovak Finance Ministry. As compared to the 2.3 percent growth in 2019, the slowdown is particularly noticeable in the export-oriented industry, while the labor market continues to resist. The recovery in the coming years will culminate with the conclusion of the drawing of EU funds of the third programming period in 2023.
