Written school-leaving exams won't take place at secondary schools in Slovakia this school year, new Education Minister Branislav Grohling (Freedom and Solidarity/SaS) announced following the Cabinet session on Tuesday. According to Grohling, the reason is that education at all schools and school facilities has been suspended until further notice due to the spread of the coronavirus infection. The internal part of school-leaving exams, i.e. the oral exams, should take place within two weeks after education is resumed. External testing of ninth-graders at primary schools called, 'Testing 9', will be scrapped this year as well, said Grohling.
