A new Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatisation is to be set up in Slovakia. It will replace the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Investment and Informatisation and assume the agenda of regional development from the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry. The move should concentrate regional development and EU funds under the remit of a single ministry, with an eye to better co-ordination, effectiveness and transparency, reads the official commentary to the bill.
The related bill, discussed in Parliament in fast-tracked proceedings, was passed by 82 out of 126 MPs present on Thursday.
