The Slovak Finance Ministry welcomes and supports the French-German proposal to set up a € 500-bn EU recovery fund. "The Finance Ministry welcomes this French-German proposal because it sends out the right signal for the recovery of European economies. The compromise agreement between the two largest EU economies is an important milestone. The proposed volume of the fund makes it a relevant macroeconomic tool," stated the ministry. The new recovery fund would form part of the EU's budgetary framework for 2021-27 and would take the form of grants.
