Slovak economy to fall 9 percent this year

Slovakia's GDP should fall by 9 percent this year instead of the 6.7 percent originally predicted by the European Commission in its spring prognosis, according to a report released by the EC on Tuesday. The fall is caused by the coronavirus epidemic and the restrictive measures that have accompanied it. Next year Slovak GDP should grow by 7.4 percent, while back in the spring prognosis the EC envisaged the figure at 6.6 percent.
