Parliament will elect a candidate for the post of prosecutor-general (PG) at its session starting on November 24, with Parliamentary Chair Boris Kollar (We Are Family) setting the date of election on Friday, TASR learnt from his spokesperson Michaela Jurcova. The deadline for submitting the names of candidates is 4 p.m. on October 9. Subsequently, the parliamentary constitutional committee will hear the applicants before the start of the November session. The Parliament Office will publish the curriculum vitae of all applicants for the PG post on its website at least 20 days before their hearings. Former Prosecutor General Jaromir Ciznar resigned in early August. Acting Prosecutor General is currently his First Deputy Viera Kovacikova.
