The National Crime Agency on Wednesday carried out an operation code-named Gale, announced Police Corps spokesman Michal Slivka, who refused to provide more details due to the ongoing investigation.
Several media outlets reported on Wednesday that various representatives of the judiciary have been detained in the operation. According to news outlet aktuality.sk, former Supreme Court vice-chair Jarmila Urbancova, Supreme Court judge Jozef Kolcun and former Bratislava I Regional Court vice-chair Katarina Bartalska are among the detained. Dennik N daily reported that lawyer Zoroslav Kollar was arrested as well. Another detained judge is Otilia Dolakova, according to the television channel JOJ.
Meanwhile, television channel Markiza has reported that former Justice Ministry state secretary Monika Jankovska has been transported to NAKA's department in Nitra. The same applies to judge Richard Molnar, who's been charged with corruption.
