Scientists: Third of population vaccinnated could prevent 98% of COVID-19 deaths

Vaccination against the coronavirus of one third of the Slovak population would prevent approximately 98 percent of COVID-19 deaths. This according to Slovak scientists and experts present at Tuesday's online discussion of the Veda pomáha (Science Helps) initiative. The scientists agreed that people could be vaccinated with any vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

They also said they understand people's concerns about vaccination. However, they claim that people must "somehow suppress" fear and rely on the knowledge and experience of experts. They also noted that if people had been overly influenced by fear in the past, more today would be dying of diabetes, because even the insulin invented 200 years ago initially aroused distrust in people.
