President thinks government needs to draw on self-reflection

Speaking on TV Markíza's Sunday political show, President Zuzana Čaputová said she views it as necessary for the Government to draw on self-reflection and political responsibility. At the same time, she does not consider the replacement of the Health Minister as the ultimate solution. Nonetheless, according to Čaputová, the health sector needs a restart. The head of the state pointed to the fact that constitutional powers do not enable her to remove or replace the prime minister or any minister. She cannot form a caretaker government, either. She could only do so if the government resigned on its own or was dismissed by parliament. Concerning permission to inoculate people with the unregistered Russian vaccine Sputnik V, Zuzana Čaputová said she is in favour of using vaccines recognised by international agencies.
