PM about vaccination with EU Ambassadors

On Thursday, Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) held a video conference with ambassadors from the EU member states. One of the main issues around which revolved the online meeting was the pandemic of novel coronavirus. The ambassadors inquired about the progress of vaccination in Slovakia and Bratislava's stance on the 'green certificate' that could enable travel within the EU.
"We're seeking the most suitable solution for the EU. We'd like to have the certificate ready in June, so as to enable people to travel," claimed the Prime Minister, adding that all those who wish to get vaccinated against COVID-19 will be able to receive their jabs soon.
Also broached was the upcoming EU social summit at Porto in Portugal. The Prime Minister and the ambassadors concurred that social issues will receive high priority at the European level for the sake of the digital and green transition, as well as due to the impacts of the pandemic on individual countries' economies.
Heger accentuated the risk of energy poverty that could become exacerbated by too ambitious climate targets, which is why the issue should be included in the EU's social agenda. He presented the top priorities of the Slovak recovery and resilience plan to the ambassadors as well.
The conference participants also touched on the fight against corruption, renewable energy sources, agriculture and the current situation in Ukraine.
