France's 2022 Presidency of the Council of the European Union has the full support of Slovakia, the chief of Slovak diplomacy Ivan Korčok told his French counterpart Clement Beaune in Paris on Wednesday. The foreign ministers discussed French-Slovak bilateral ties, the Conference on the Future of Europe, the upcoming French 2022 Presidency as well as the enlargement of the union. "We're interested not only in the further strengthening of cooperation in the sphere of the economy, but also closer coordination of our positions in areas of shared interests, particularly with respect to the upcoming French Presidency," said Korcok. While in Paris, the head of Slovak diplomacy opened an exhibition commemorating the legacy of Štefan Osuský, who became the first Czechoslovak Ambassador to France in 1921. This year Slovakia and France mark the 100th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.
