Korcok deplores Russia's military manoeuvres at NATO ministerial meeting in Riga

Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korcok at a meeting of the heads of diplomacy of NATO-member countries in Riga on Tuesday expressed his concern at recent military manoeuvres of the Russian armed forces near Ukraine, the Foreign Affairs Ministry announced.

"[Slovakia] is concerned about the latest movements of the Russian armed forces and heavy military equipment near the border with Ukraine. Slovakia advocates mutual dialogue that will lead to de-escalation of tensions," said Korcok.

In addition to Russia’s military drills along the border with Ukraine, the heads of diplomacy also condemned the continued abuse of migrants by the Belarusian regime and the undermining of the security of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.

The ministers also discussed the consequences of Russia's withdrawal from the Treaty on Open Skies and condemned Moscow's recent anti-satellite missile test.
