Ukrainian children not yet included in education, says analysis

According to an analysis by the Center for Educational Analysis (CVA), Slovakia has not yet been able to successfully integrate into education children who have fled the war in Ukraine. The problem, according to the analysis, is insufficient support for teachers, as well as a lack of systemic support from the Ministry. This according to CVA researchers, who based their statements on data from an analysis they prepared for the municipality of Bratislava. The analysts explained that if the Ukrainian children are not successfully integrated into education this could result in their not being integrated later into society, leaving them in a state of social exclusion which would be a problem for the entire society. The State Secretary for Slovakia’s Department of Education, Svetlana Síthová, responded by pointing out that they are striving for successful integration, and that regular communication is made both with Ukraine’s ministry of education and with international institutions that have the situation under their purview.
