Coalition leaders to meet and discuss the ongoing crisis

Leaders of the coalition parties are set to meet on Friday (August 12) to discuss a way out of the coalition crisis, with Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) stressing again that his priority is to maintain a coalition of four parties until the end of the election term. The premier is due to meet Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) head Richard Sulik by the end of the week. The Freedom and Solidarity party is taking into account every possible scenario in which the coalition imbroglio might be resolved, but it views the resignation of its ministers by the end of August as the most probable outcome. Freedom and Solidarity chair Richard Sulik on Wednesday said he does not expect Finance Minister Igor Matovic to leave the Government, meaning that Freedom and Solidarity's demands will not be met.
