Slovak acting Prime Minister Eduard Heger expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the strong earthquake that struck south-eastern Turkey near the border with Syria on Monday early morning.
I am deeply saddened by loss of lives and level of destruction caused by a powerful earthquake in Turkey and Syria. My deepest condolences to the families of victims, wishing speedy recovery to the injured.
In the morning, the death toll from the powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake stood at 568, with hundreds more people injured.
