Slovak skier Petra Vlhova triumphed in the opening slalom of the World Cup's new season at Levi, Finland, edging out Germany's Lena Duerr by 1.41 seconds.
Austria's Katharina Liensberger ended up third, finishing 1.55 seconds behind Vlhova.
This was Vlhova's 29th victory in the prestigious series and 20th victory in the slalom discipline. She notched up her sixth triumph in Levi, having previously won in this Finnish ski resort in 2017 and twice in 2020 and in 2021.
Gaining 160 points in two races, Vlhova is currently the leader of the World Cup overall classification. She started the season with third place in the October giant slalom event in the Austrian town of Soelden.
