Progressive Slovakia MP Lucia Plaváková was expelled from the Parliament chamber because of stickers on her laptop twice on Wednesday, firstly by House Vice-chair Andrej Danko (SNS) and then by House Vice-chair Tibor Gašpar (Smer-SD).
The reason for expelling Plaváková was the stickers on her laptop which included symbols supporting the LGBTI community. According to Danko, the stickers could be interpreted as an advertisement, which is against the parliamentary Rules of Procedure.
Plaváková, however, filed a motion against the decision, with MPs upholding her complaint in a vote. Plaváková's first complaint was upheld by other opposition MPs, but also MPs from the coalition Hlas-SD party. Only MPs from Smer-SD and SNS voted against. However, Plaváková's second complaint wasn't upheld by Hlas-SD party.
