Laptop stickers in parliament

The Constitutional and Legal Committee of the National Council of the Slovak Republic ruled that stickers on laptops are considered "other similar visual representations" under parliamentary rules. As such, the prohibition on bringing these items into the chamber applies without exception. The committee evaluated whether laptops with stickers violate the rules against displaying materials that promote political parties or movements. While they concluded that stickers could be seen as visual representations, they did not determine if they promote a political agenda, as this depends on the sticker's content. This clarification followed incidents where Lucia Plaváková (PS) was expelled from the chamber for her laptop stickers, prompting Deputy Speaker Peter Žiga (Hlas-SD) to seek the committee's opinion on enforcing the rules.
